The first Channel Islander to feature on Mastermind has been announced as the new leader of the pack at the Lions Club of Jersey.
105SC Sentinel magazine editor Peter Tabb will be the group's new President for 2020/2021.
As a Lion since 1972, this will be the second time Peter has taken on the role, having previously served as President of the charity in 1985/1986.
A retired public relations consultant, Peter is also a District Officer serving an area covering much of south and central England, the publicity officer for Diabetes Jersey, an executive committee member of the Association of Jersey Charities, a member of the Probus Club of Jersey and the Ordre International des Anysetiers.
In addition, he holds the claim to fame of being the first Channel Islander to appear on Mastermind, answering questions about General Robert E. Lee.
The Lions Club - known across the island for its Swimarathon event - states on its website that its aim is “to provide support where it's most needed.”

Speaking about his presidency, Peter said: “We are a very active and high profile Club but it’s probably true to say that no other president has started his year in such circumstances with Covid-19 shutting down already one major Lions activity – this year’s Swimarathon - and putting doubt on our previously very successful Muddy Fun Run which is scheduled for this September.”
“Notwithstanding, thanks to Zoom, we continue to meet and we are determined to increase the level of community service in terms of direct involvement with the community and supporting other local charities and thus to live up to our Founder’s dictum that, as Lions, we serve.”
