In light of the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, the Jersey F.A. is now advising that all grassroots football in the island is postponed until further notice.

This includes all J.F.A. Combination league and cup fixtures, friendly matches and training. The Jersey F.A’s after school skills sessions, holiday fun weeks, Centre of Excellence, Player Development Centre and Just Play Walking Football sessions are also all suspended.

On Monday evening the U.K. Prime Minister Boris Johnson advised against mass gatherings in the U.K., saying everyone there should avoid “non essential” social contact.

Whilst the Government of Jersey has not yet followed suit, some schools have notified parents of sports fixtures being suspended indefinitely. The Jersey F.A. is affiliated to the F.A. in England - which has suspended all grassroots football activity - and the J.F.A. is therefore putting the current season on hold.
