Acorn Finance continues investment programme with senior management appointment

Wednesday 30 March 2016

Acorn has appointed Nicky de Veulle as Group Operations Director, a key appointment which they say will help the business achieve their aspirations to grow significantly in the next five years.

The appointment follows news in 2015 that Bailiwick Investments Limited and Sealyham Investments Limited had each taken 25% stakes in the Acorn business.

Mrs de Veulle’s varied background provides a superb foundation for this important role in the Acorn business.

Graduating as a Mechanical Engineer from Imperial College in London, she went on to qualify as a Chartered Accountant in 2000 with PricewaterhouseCoopers.    Selected for a prestigious executive development programme, she transferred to work on special projects in Washington with PWC, providing direct high level access to key leaders.  A career break in Jersey to raise her young family was followed swiftly by a senior appointment at Jersey Plants Direct.

The senior operational role expanded her skillset, with Mrs de Veulle overseeing digital and web development, coupled with their call centre restructuring which saw call answer rates grow exponentially.  Her latest role before joining Acorn was with a local start-up Peer-2-Peer company which was acquired by GLI Finance Limited for £37.75m within 12 months of launch.

“Nicky’s breadth of knowledge is a huge asset to the senior Acorn team and we are delighted to have secured her to this key position," said Richard Harrop, Group CEO for Acorn.

"Her appointment reflects the ethos of Acorn to invest in the very best people to ensure we continue to deliver expert, tailored finance solutions for both our consumer and business clients.  For some clients, the financial structures we are putting in place are highly technical and bespoke. Nicky will be core to providing these more complex solutions, ensuring Acorn continues to service the varied financial needs of the Jersey marketplace."
