An expert in employment law and data protection, who has spent over a decade giving legal advice to the Government, has joined the team at Law At Work.
Jacqueline Tobias, now a Non-Practising Advocate of the Royal Court, worked for the Government of Jersey’s Law Officers’ Department where she was the principal legal advisor on the implementation of the Freedom of Information Law.
She also helped the Government - one of the largest data processing organisations in the island - meet its compliance obligations when the new Data Protection legislation came into force.
Ms Tobias said: “I'm really pleased to be joining Law At Work, a flourishing and thriving business. I am excited about the challenges ahead and working with such an enthusiastic and hardworking team. Businesses can find navigating the growing number of employment related issues daunting and I am looking forward to helping them through that process. The expectations members of staff have of their employers are changing and it is vital that businesses understand that and are prepared for the new post-pandemic environment that we are all in now.”
Heidi Gibaut, LAW Group Managing Director, added: “We are delighted to welcome Jacqueline to Law At Work. She brings extensive experience of working on Employment Law cases and Data Protection matters, and her tribunal experience includes collective disputes and handling discrimination claims.
"Jacqueline is well versed in providing training in these subject areas and, added to her commercial and corporate law experience, increases and strengthens the range of services we are able to offer our clients.”
