New manager at The Atlantic

The Atlantic Hotel has announced the appointment of Scott Andrews as its new Hotel Manager.

38-year-old Mr Andrews moved to Jersey having been scouted to take up the position.

He joins the team directly from his position as Acting General Manager at multiple award-winning Gidleigh Park in Devon. Gidleigh Park, renowned for its outstanding food and setting, has attained high levels of cuisine under the direction of Chef Michael Caines MBE, and has received two Michelin stars, five AA rosettes and five AA red stars. Before this, Mr Andrews worked at the world famous Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons alongside celebrated chef Raymond Blanc OBE.

Commenting on Mr Andrews' appointment, owner and Managing Director of The Atlantic Hotel, Patrick Burke said: “Scott has a highly impressive background, having worked in some of the most renowned hotels in the country. We welcome Scott to The Atlantic just as we celebrate our 45th anniversary as a family run hotel and we are confident that he will help us to maintain and to continue to build upon the levels of excellence for which the hotel has become known.”

Mr Andrews was born and bred in Devon and with a passion for fine food and wine he studied Food and Beverage Management at Exeter College, where he later went back to lecture in the subject. He holds the accolade of being a St Julian’s Scholar, the scholarship programme of The Master Innholders, thanks to which he benefitted from a unique management training programme at Lausanne in Switzerland.

Discussing his new role he said: “I am excited to be joining the fantastic team at The Atlantic Hotel. The fact that the hotel is family owned and operated was a huge attraction for me, as I really enjoy working within small luxury establishments which pay the upmost attention to the needs of their clients – whatever they might be.”

 “I am completely blown away by the stunning location of the hotel, the role calls for long hours, to which I am of course accustomed; but to be able to take a break and step out onto the sand dunes or the beautiful beach, literally just a stone’s throw away is simply amazing.”
