The Atlantic Hotel’s Patrick Burke featured in The Caterer

Thursday 09 June 2016

Patrick Burke, owner and Managing Director of The Atlantic Hotel, has had his career in hospitality and his achievements to date profiled in a comprehensive feature in the respected industry magazine, The Caterer.

Featuring on the front cover of the magazine, Mr Burke was interviewed by the editor, Amanda Afiya, about his dedication to The Atlantic Hotel and his commitment to putting Jersey on the map as a must-visit destination.

Mr Burke has dedicated his career to promoting travel to the Channel Islands, just as his father, Henry Burke, did before him. The family heritage of the hotel is a proud story for Mr Burke, who explains that ‘in four years’ time we will be celebrating 50 years as a family business, which makes quite a milestone.’

Commenting on the feature, Mr Burke said: "The Caterer has long been a must-read publication within our industry. Being selected for a profile is a massive honour for me personally and I am incredibly proud to be able to share the family heritage of The Atlantic Hotel with such a wide audience, the challenges that we have overcome along the way and the achievements we have been so proud to celebrate including of course being awarded the Independent Hotel of the Year by The Caterer in 2014, a first for a Jersey hotel."

The feature is conducted in a question and answer format and explores the history of The Atlantic Hotel as founded by Henry Burke, the journey which Patrick Burke undertook before his return to the island to take over the running of the hotel and the evolution of the property into the award-winning destination it is today.

From being one of the earliest members of Small Luxury Hotels of the World – for whom Mr Burke serves on the board to this day - to the establishment of the Luxury Jersey Hotels consortium and the inception of the Eat Jersey Food Festival in 2015, Mr Burke and his team continue to innovate and look for fresh ways to attract new audiences to both the hotel and the island.
