Barclays has launched its Digital Eagles service with the first Tea & Teach event held at Jersey Digital Hub to provide free technology advice to Islanders.
The Digital Eagles comprise bank staff who have a passion for the internet and enthusiasm to share their expertise over a cup of tea or coffee. The sessions are designed to provide novices with a better understand of how to take advantage of the internet and online banking services.
Carol Bisson, Head of Local Markets and a Barclays Digital Eagle, said: “At the recent Tea & Teach session we helped attendees with a variety of digital questions from how to use online banking to demonstrating how to purchase and use apps. We also set up video calling for one attendee so they could stay in touch with their friends from overseas. Keeping secure online was also a high priority for many attendees so we explained how to check you’re using secure websites and tips to improve online security in general.”
The next Tea & Teach event will be held in the Barclays Library Place branch on 17 December.
Anyone can drop in on the day or book an appointment in advance by emailing Yas Vockins at yasmine.vockins@barclays.com or by phone on 01534 812167.
Digital Eagles sessions in 2015 will be held at Digital Jersey.
