The head of one of Jersey’s big trust companies has been helping to inspire young women to become successful in business.
Minerva Director Vaishali Shah who is Head of Female Focus was one of a select group of women speaking to students at JCG ahead of International Women’s Day.
The company, JCG Foundation’s latest Corporate Partner, is also giving two young teenagers the chance to network at an International event in London.
Vaishali Shah said: “As part of the relationship, Minerva will be running a competition with JCG Students to win a trip to London and attend and participate at an event run by Minerva’s Female Focus, an exclusive international network for businesswomen. Female Focus provides an exciting networking opportunity that enables like-minded business women to come together, share experiences and build business relationships.”
The competition is open to 15 to 17 year olds in Years 11 and 12. They have to plan a three to five minute presentation about their “Aspirations of a Woman in 21st Century Society”.
Judging will take place in April when five students will be shortlisted. They will then be invited to make their presentation to a panel at Minerva before the two winners are picked to go to the Minerva Female Focus event.
JCG Foundation Director Leanda Guy said: “Members of this exciting and exclusive network benefit from a number of opportunities including networking with a dynamic group of highly successful women at the top of their professions, access to international connections and support, attending interesting events and establishing new business relationships.”
Vaishali Shah is responsible for developing Minerva Group’s relationships with clients from the UK and East Africa, particularly with the next generation of their existing clients. She is Group Head of Marketing and also responsible for Minerva’s branding, design and visual communication.
