Businesses flock to Digital Jersey

Wednesday 04 February 2015

More than 100 businesses have become members of Digital Jersey.

The States-backed body - which supports and promotes tech businesses and entrepreneurs - has signed up 113 firms, partners and individuals in the first month of its membership scheme, which is open to anyone interested in the development and growth of Jersey’s digital sector.

There are four types of membership on offer: Tech, Partner, Community and Virtual. Benefits vary depending on the type of membership chosen, including: 24/7 use of the Digital Jersey Hub in Grenville Street, free access to workshops and events, directory listing, publication of showcases on the Digital Jersey website and sponsorship opportunities. The aim of the membership is to support partners, members of industry and the wider community to work towards growth of the digital sector and a digitally enabled society.

Carla Harris, director of Digital Jersey said: "We are delighted that our new membership has attracted such a keen interest so far. The membership is a fantastic opportunity for us to provide support to both startups and companies within the digital sector to work towards strong growth and development of the digital landscape in Jersey as a highly important and ubiquitous area. We are also very keen to work with partner members and their product and service offerings to introduce a new and developing client base.”

A Tech Member, Danny Bannister of Total Solutions Group, said: "Our engagement with Digital Jersey has been on an individual and corporate basis with significant benefit derived in both areas. We have attended thought-provoking and interesting seminars, found new talented recruits and contact has been facilitated with influential decision makers. I am very much looking forward to our products and services being part of the Member & Services Directory. I can speak for my business and team when I say not only do we enjoy our engagements with Digital Jersey but the island’s technical industry, of which we are a part, is now fully represented and gaining world-wide recognition as a centre of technical excellence and innovation."

An informal meeting will take place on Thursday 20 February at 12 pm for a hour at Digital Jersey Hub where members of the public can learn more about the membership offering. Those interested in attending should email rebecca.elliott@digital.je.
