Lesley Thompson from Café 1837 in Voisin’s department store was the overall winner in the 2014 the Jersey Post Customer Service Awards.
More than 7,000 nominations were made by Islanders – the most in the awards four-year history – naming individuals and teams who they felt deserved to be recognised for outstanding standards in customer service delivery.
Ms Thompson, who also won the Parish of St Helier Hospitality category, said she was delighted with her achievement:
“I really can’t believe it. The whole team is ecstatic. To know that our customers have voted for us and to be recognised in this way is beyond belief is just amazing and I would like to say a huge thank you for all our lovely customers who took the time to vote,” she said.
Tim Brown, CEO Jersey Post, said: “For any business, attracting – and then retaining – customers is vital. Having your customers nominate you for an award is something to which every business in Jersey should aspire. All the winners have shown they excel at what they do. Lesley is a worthy winner – I am delighted for her and the Café 1837 team.”
