Charter ship Arrow is back in service

Monday 18 August 2014

Condor Ferries charter freight ship Arrow was back in service yesterday - a day after a repair to the control system for one of her propellers.

Arrow has loaded freight in Portsmouth earlier today and is expected to be in the Channel Islands later this afternoon, resuming the route between the Channel Islands and UK that she is covering while Commodore Clipper is in dry dock. Ports and Guest Services Director at Condor Ferries, Captain Fran Collins, said: “We have worked with the ship owners to get Arrow back on the route as swiftly as possible. Our robust contingency planning meant that Commodore Goodwill was able to operate an additional inter-Island sailing yesterday, and our other charter vessel MN Toucan made deliveries into Guernsey in the early hours of this morning, helping to keep our Islands connected and supplied.” She continued: “Arrow is due to arrive in Guernsey at 18.15 and will then continue on to Jersey, as normal.” Repair works to Commodore Clipper taking place in dry dock in Falmouth are progressing to schedule.
