C.I. Travel Group have announced that their chosen charity for 2015 will be BeachAbility, a Jersey charity helping people with mobility difficulties to experience the sights, sounds and enjoyment of Jersey's magnificent beaches.
As Jersey prepares to welcome thousands of visitors during the summer months, BeachAbility will provide specially designed wheelchairs that cope with difficult terrains such as soft sand, stones and bumpy slipways.
Chairs are available to book at a number of locations across the Island, and will benefit those who may have previously felt left out or unable to join in with family and friends, and can now enjoy some of the most outstanding beaches in Europe.
"We are thrilled that C.I. Travel Group has selected BeachAbility to be their chosen charity for 2015” said Margaret Le Herissier, Chairperson of BeachAbility.
“This partnership will be enormously useful in helping us access the visitor market and we look forward to working with the C.I Travel Group team in close cooperation during the year."
Commenting on C.I. Travel Group's involvement with the charity, Robert Mackenzie, Managing Director, said: "C.I. Travel Group are delighted to be supporting BeachAbility as our chosen charity for 2015. Whilst the charity was only founded 3 years ago, they have made great strides in providing beach access through their specially designed chairs. The whole team are looking forward to becoming involved and helping to both raise funds for the charity as well as awareness of the service BeachAbility provide."
