Switch Digital has officially become a Living Wage employer.
The Living Wage takes into account the wider cost of living in the island, with the aim of ensuring employees are able to live with dignity.
Administered by local charity Caritas, the Living Wage for 2022 is £11.27 per hour, and is reviewed annually, with accredited businesses having six months to implement the new rate from 1 January each year.
Congratulating Switch on its commitment, Living Wage campaign leader Jennifer Bridge commented: "We are pleased that Switch Digital has been accredited as a Living Wage employer and delighted to welcome this firm into the Living Wage family. We hope that this accreditation will inspire other firms to do the same."
Switch's Managing Director Damon Eastwood added: "Paying the Living Wage makes sense. We fully support the Jersey Living Wage campaign and we encourage businesses to think about those people who work to support them in delivering products and services for their clients; ensuring that they are paid the living wage."
Caritas CEO Patrick Lynch said: "It is great to be able to accredit Switch, the first firm since the new minimum wage was announced. Despite that imminent increase, the MW lags behind the Living Wage which is needed now more than ever with the cost of living crisis affecting more and more people on low wages."
