The Jersey Employer Group have launched an online 'toolkit' to help local businesses put diversity and inclusion into practice.
The Diversity and Inclusion Toolkit includes guidance for employees, managers, mentors and boards, a recruitment best practice guide as well as information on how to promote diversity and inclusion.
It supports JEG’s objectives of shaping Jersey’s workforce by sharing good practice, creating better workforce connections, and developing local talent.
“Employee diversity and inclusion is associated with better business results including financial performance and employee retention," David Bailey, the Co-Chair of JEG, said.
"We see high levels of engagement but there is often a fear of where to start. By creating and curating this toolkit, we hope to give businesses a consistent framework to begin and maintain their diversity and inclusion journeys. The toolkit is already being implemented by a number of leading Jersey businesses.
“A core aim of the JEG is to try and enable a good workforce culture, and our small Island community can make it difficult to recruit a diverse workforce but it is important to ensure diversity in the Island is recognised and included in the way businesses operate.”
