Employers are being invited to a series of free workshops to discuss diversity and inclusion matters in the workplace.
The Institute of Directors Diversity and Inclusion Sub-Committee in Jersey has begun a series a workshops for businesses of all kinds to discuss D&I issues and to promote membership of its D&I charter - a set of guiding principles and objectives to support employers to improve diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
The workshops – at which directors and senior managers hear from D&I experts, Kate Wright (The Diversity Network) and Kiley Henley (HR Now) and discuss their experience and practical steps – are being hosted run by the Institute of Directors’ Diversity and Inclusion Sub-Committee and hosted by law firm Walkers.
Julia-Anne Dix, IoD D&I Sub-committee Chair, said: " This is a great opportunity for businesses to understand some of the theory and good practice on which the Charter has been built, and to consider how they can use it to help progress their own D&I journeys.
“It’s also a valuable opportunity for businesses to share their own experiences, insights and understanding of how to enable cultural change."
Its also hoped that the workshops will encourage firms to sign up to the Jersey D&I Charter.
Alexandra Corner, Partner at Walkers, one of the first signatories of the Charter, said: "The Charter recognises that we are all on a D&I journey and we really look forward to the planned workshops where we can collaborate with other Jersey businesses and learn about what has worked in other workplaces."
