Lord Green, former Minister for Trade and Investment is visiting Jersey for talks with the States and Jersey Financial Services Commission.
In addition to meeting finance industry leaders, the former HSBC Group Chairman, who stepped down from his government role last December, is booked to speak about the future of finance at the Business Connect network breakfast from 7.30 am to 8.45 am at the Pomme d’Or on Friday 7 March
Jersey Finance CEO, Geoff Cook, said Lord Green’s strong financial services background and wealth of experience, gleaned from a wide range of positions both in industry and government, would lead to some informative insights.
“Jersey is committed to the global agenda of transparency and ethical standards within finance and Lord Green’s knowledge and view point, I’m sure, will be both interesting and valuable to the local audience,” he said.
Paul Milbank, the co-ordinator of Business Connect, said they were delighted he had agreed to speak.
“Lord Green may well be the highest profile speaker we have ever hosted. His thinking and writing on finance leadership, particularly in relation to his 2009 book Good Value, is something we have watched closely,” he said.
