EY makes senior appointment to new role

Tuesday 26 November 2024

EY has announced the appointment of a Markets Leader for EY in the Channel Islands.

Ove Svejstrup will be the first person to take on the newly-created role.

The post was created to meet the “increasingly prevalent” need for non-audit services, according to the professional services firm.

In his new role, Mr Svejstrup will spearhead EY’s market activity across the Channel Islands and support service lines to ensure clients receive fully integrated support to capitalise on the opportunities within the market.

Mr Svejstrup joined EY’s Guernsey office on secondment for two years in 2012, before a permanent move back to Guernsey as an Assurance Partner in 2016.

The firm said that Mr Svejstrup has been pivotal to the success EY in the Channel Islands has achieved” and instrumental in EY’s local adoption of transformative changes for implementing technology to better serve clients”.

Dan Saunders, EY’s Channel Islands Managing Partner, said: “Ove's appointment as CI Markets Leader is a testament to his commitment to the firm and our continued success and growth ambitions in the Channel Islands.

Ove will play a key role in leading our teams, as we continue to leverage our global network to deliver the highest quality services to our clients. His passion, drive and expertise will be important in driving the Channel Islands practice through our next phase of growth.”

Mr Svejstrup added: “Ensuring we deliver exceptional quality service and support our clients is at the forefront of everything we do.

“I am delighted to be stepping into this new Markets Leader role and working with our teams to fully utilise our global networks and deliver best practice services to our clients and look forward to playing a part in the continued growth and development of the firm.”
