EY has strengthened its private client and trust team in the Channel Islands with the appointment of a new Tax Manager.
Chris Manley has 14 years of private client tax experience in private practice.
Mr Manley has previously worked across various areas of UK tax, including planning for inheritance tax and ensuring compliance for both individuals and trusts.
He has also advised on the tax implications of distributions from offshore trusts, as well as planning the remittance of income and stockpiled gains, and capital gains tax planning related to land development, and has worked on trust accounts, preparing annual accounts, managing income and expenses, and ensuring legal and regulatory compliance.
EY Tax Partner and Head of Tax in Jersey, Aine Slater, said: "We are thrilled to welcome Chris to our team. His extensive experience in private client tax and particularly his expertise in UK inheritance tax planning will be invaluable to our clients in Jersey and across the Channel Islands. He has already shown that he has the potential to play a key role in the continued growth and success of our firm."
Professional development is important to Mr Manley, who holds a BA (Hons) degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Kent. After first becoming a member of the Association of Taxation Technicians (ATT), Mr Manley qualified as a Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA) in 2015 and he is also a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (TEP).
Mr Manley explained: "I feel incredibly fortunate to be working with EY's private client and trust team, where I can provide valuable support to private clients and fiduciary businesses in Jersey and throughout the Channel Islands. I'm also excited to fully embrace island life and develop my professional network in Jersey."
