The Jersey Care Commission, Jersey Financial Services Commission and Digital Jersey are set to host a panel event discussing the role of regulation on the island.
Taking place next month, the event ‘Regulation in Jersey – do we get the balance right?’ will discuss the changing role of regulation and the impact of regulation going too far, as well as not far enough.
Alex Ruddy, Chair of the IoD Jersey branch, will chair the panel and will be joined by Becky Sherrington, Chief Inspector of the Jersey Care Commission, Jill Britton, Director General of the Jersey Financial Services Commission and Tony Moretta, CEO of Digital Jersey.
Speaking about the event, Chief Inspector of the Jersey Care Commission, Becky Sherrington commented: “We are collectively looking forward to hosting the first event of this kind in Jersey. Regulation is necessary for protecting islanders as well as supporting regulated organisations to flourish, but we also understand that it can be perceived as a barrier.
“Our objective is to provide a balanced view of the purpose and benefits of regulation in Jersey and to create a platform for discussion of this topic for members of the Jersey community.”
The event will take place at the Royal Yacht Hotel on Wednesday 2 October from 12-2pm. Tickets can be purchased by clicking HERE.
