Foreshore maintains top payment industry security status

Jersey-based data centre, Foreshore, has maintained its status as a top-tier data security supplier for users of the payment card industry.

The re-accreditation of its Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS) means that Foreshore can continue to serve local and international customers who require the highest security standards for the hosting of client payment data.

“Being a PCI-DSS Level One Service provider enables Foreshore to host both local and international businesses who handle payment data, and to provide confidence to them that their data is hosted in a secure environment. To maintain that status we have to undergo a rigorous audit of our infrastructure, personnel, processes and procedures on an annual basis,” said Davey Sandiford, information security officer of Foreshore.

“The fact that we have been re-accredited five times over five years is testament to the hard work, expertise and professionalism of all of my colleagues at Foreshore who ensure that the security of our clients’ data is always our highest priority. The diligence and professionalism with which we approach data security issues has enabled us to attract clients from around the world.”

To maintain a Level One certification, companies must undergo an annual audit to ensure that best practice is being followed throughout the company.

For Foreshore to be re-accredited, an audit was conducted by a PCI DSS qualified security assessor who reviewed the data centre’s infrastructure, personnel,processes and procedures against PCI DSS Standards
