Free event to explore evolution of high street banking

The Channel Islands’ Association for Project Management will be focusing on the evolution of high street banking in a free event being held tomorrow as part of an ongoing series of project-themed events.

Richard Le Breton from Santander International will explain the project behind the Channel Islands’ first ‘Work Café’ bank branch – a concept that originated in Chile and was expanded into Santander’s other core jurisdictions including Spain, the USA and Brazil.

He was responsible for leading the team that brought the project together, co-ordinating the in-house architect team, a UK project team, and local partners, contractors, and sub-contractors. 

Taking place at the café itself from 17:30, the event will be open to both APM and non-APM members, and will count towards one hour of CPD for attendees.

Carl Ibbet, the local APM Committee Chair had this to say, “We are glad that both members and non-members of the APM can hear from the team behind the Work Café project on how they delivered a successful project, the challenges faced in the time of covid-19, and the importance of the needs of the customer.

“The APM Channel Isles provides an opportunity for those already working in - or wishing to explore - the project profession a forum to swap stories and experiences in an environment with like-minded project professionals.  We are hoping to show those who may consider a career in projects what it’s all about and how to get into this most varied and exciting of professions.”
