The Chair of the Jersey Competition Regulatory Authority has been appointed to lead the Broadband Stakeholder Group, the UK Government’s top advisory body on high-speed internet connectivity.
Stephanie Liston said: “I am honoured to be asked to chair the BSG. Having devoted my career to telecoms and technology, I am keen to embrace the challenge of ensuring that the UK continues to accelerate toward genuinely world class connectivity.
“This new role complements my position as the Chair of the JCRA, providing mutual benefits to both organisations, through shared knowledge and expertise from Jersey and the UK. Both organisations have a common goal to develop best possible services and value for the citizens of the British Isles.”
Economic Development Minister Lyndon Farnham said “I am delighted that Stephanie has been appointed to this important role.
“Her selection underlines the quality and competence of those who lead our regulatory agencies in Jersey and serves as a testimony to the expertise and professional standards for which we are respected.
“This role complements Stephanie’s position as Chair of the JCRA and I have no doubt we will derive benefit from her new role as Jersey pursues its ambition to become a world class jurisdiction for communications infrastructure.”
