Ashburton Investments has added its Head of Operations to the Board of Ashburton (Jersey Limited).

It’s envisaged Tony Wilshin will play a crucial role in ensuring the business meets its strategic targets.

He will be responsible for the strategic management and development of the business’s integrated and multi-domicile operations platform supporting its international investment activities.

Mr Wilshin has almost 30 years’ experience in financial services and joined Ashburton in 2014.

Tony Wilshin, Head of Operations said: “I am very excited to be given the opportunity to join Ashburton’s executive team and in particular I am looking forward to helping to shape the future operating model. This will ensure that Ashburton is able to deliver on the FirstRand Group’s ambitious long-term strategic goals. The key is to meet our clients’ needs through delivery of excellent service and allow us growth opportunities across our core markets.”

Nicholas Taylor, Chief Financial Officer, said: “Tony has worked tirelessly to review the business’s operational processes and practices and has played a big part in the implementation of numerous new processes and procedures to enhance controls and achieve efficiencies. Tony’s contribution has been recognised and we are proud to see him join the Ashburton Board where we are sure he will play a crucial role in ensuring the business meets its strategic targets."
