The local hotel group that looks after the Pomme d'Or, Merton and Greenhills has made two appointments to its board.
Luis de Oliveira and Matthew Seymour have both been named Directors of Seymour Group, which also owns The Watersplash beach bar and club.
Mr de Oliveira studied Hotel Management at the University of Johannesburg and began his career working in some of South Africa’s best known hotel companies.
He joined the Seymour Group in November 2002, where he served as general manager of the Pomme d’Or hotel for more than 16 years. He then became general manager of the Merton Hotel in January 2019.
As the pandemic struck in March 2020, Mr de Oliveira was appointed Group Operations Manager, helping steer the group through the challenges of covid. He is now Operations Director.
Mr Seymour, who is becoming the Group's Business Development Director, is the fifth generation of the Seymour family to work within the group.
He read Marketing and Events Management at the University of Gloucestershire, which included a year working with Octagon, one of the world’s leading sports and entertainment representation agencies, and joined Seymour Group in September 2017 following a period of working in the local finance sector.
“Both appointments are very much welcomed by the Board and reflect our continued objective to be the leading hotel group in the Channel Islands while keeping with the successful tradition of Seymour hospitality created more than 100 years ago," Managing Director David Seymour commented.
