HSBC appoints new General Counsel

Thursday 14 October 2021

HSBC has appointed a new General Counsel to manage the legal risks across the Bank’s operations in Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man.

Taking on the role is Kate Morton, who has been with HSBC for more than 20 years.

She has experience of working across multiple locations including various regions of the UK and Asia, supporting a broad range of divisions, including commercial banking, cash management and, for the last 14 years, wealth and personal banking.

“Having worked across the UK and Asia over the past 22 years, I’m excited to be moving to a new environment. I’m very much looking forward to supporting our teams across the islands in delivering such a broad range of services to our customers. My family and I are also very happy to be moving to such a beautiful part of the world and we’re enjoying all that the islands have to offer,” she said.

CEO Sue Fox added: “I’m delighted to welcome Kate to our team. We operate in an increasingly complex regulatory and legal environment and Kate’s diverse technical knowledge and expertise will be vital in ensuring we continue to deliver robust, cutting-edge services and products to customers.”
