HSBC has appointed a new head of its Family Office business within Global Private Banking in the Channel Islands and Isle of Man.
Maria Gardner, who will be based in Jersey, has 20 years’ experience in international financial services.
She previously worked as an analyst for systematic hedge fund Altis Partners, where she worked with both large institutions and ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) individuals.
Ms Gardner later moved to investment consultancy Asset Risk Consultants (ARC), where she looked after UHNW families and trustees.
She is also Chartered through the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Association.
Kevin Herbert, Head of Private Banking in the Channel Islands and Isle of Man, said: "I'm delighted to welcome Maria to the team to drive our family office strategy.
"Her experience in the international investment space and her knowledge of the ultra-high net worth market will be pivotal as we continue to evolve this segment of our proposition and further leverage the opportunities available to our private banking business."
