HSBC welcomes latest cohort to development programme

Tuesday 31 December 2024

HSBC is looking to support “professional career growth” among its colleagues with its RISE Talent Programme.

The bank and financial services provider have welcomed the third cohort to its development programme HSBC RISE.

Colleagues from Jersey, Guernsey, Alderney, Sark and the Isle of Man, will take part in a series of crafted workshops, through which they are encouraged to “share, learn, reflect and enjoy the process of growth and transformation”.

The programme aims to support personal and professional career growth and focuses on three core themes, including leadership potential and maximising talent; personal empowerment and leadership gravitas; and establishing meaningful connections to drive personal and professional growth.

The firm said the workshops will be complemented by tailored individual coaching.

Elvina Aghajanyan, Head of Human Resources, HSBC Channel Islands and Isle of Man, said: It’s vital as a business that we continue to offer an attractive and tailored pathway for our people, through which they can be supported and inspired in their personal and professional growth and development.

“The latest RISE Talent Programme follows on from the launch earlier this year of the Bank’s ‘Shadow Board’, which aims to develop and unlock future senior talent within the business, who will collaborate with the local Executive Committee to provide valuable perspectives, innovative solutions, and strategic guidance on a variety of organisational initiatives, with each Shadow Board cohort running for 12 months.”

Warwick Long, CEO of HSBC Channel Islands and Isle of Man, said: “We have focused significantly on our leadership capabilities this year across the islands, as we continue to build a high quality, engaged and sustainable workforce.

The successful creation of our Shadow Board has been a key part of that strategy. Both initiatives are providing clear opportunities for our people to develop rewarding and impactful careers with HSBC.”
