Insurance firm Islands has appointed two executive directors.

Joanne Ford, who is Head of Broking Operations in Jersey, and Group Head of Finance Fiona McHugh have joined the company's top leadership team.

Group Managing Director Mark Rothery said: “I am extremely proud of both Joanne and Fiona’s appointments.

“It is critically important to us that we recognise high achieving employees and provide excellent career development opportunities.

“Both of their appointments are a direct result of Islands’ continued growth and part of our strategy to shape a truly exceptional and diverse leadership team.

“We are committed to developing our employees and providing exceptional customer service to all our customers.”

Mrs Ford joined Islands five years ago as a team leader. She now oversees the day-to-day operations and people management of the insurance trading floor, including Personal, Commercial and Private Client business and their associated supporting functions.

Mrs McHugh, who was worked at Islands for 21 years, has been appointed to both the Jersey and Guernsey local boards. She will work with the Finance teams across the company to ensure that Islands continue to exceed customer expectations.

Islands has been providing insurance services in the Channel Islands for four decades and employs 150 people in Jersey, Guernsey and Alderney.
