A Channel Islands-based International Sustainability Institute has been established to develop sustainable research and thought leadership.
The institute's mission is to advocate global financial, environmental, and fiscal sustainability.
The institute will be providing advocacy, research, and advisory services on sustainability to firms, institutions, and governments around the world.
Dr Andy Sloan, the institute's founder, commented: "Climate change is having a major impact on the views of society of the sustainability of our way of life. But there are also many other imbalances we need to address.
"The paramount importance of fiscal, environmental, and financial sustainability has become evident in the early decades of the 21st century. My vision is to create a globally renowned think tank and sustainability research institute in the Channel Islands. I believe there exists the raw material, intellectual capital and private and public support across the two islands to develop a body whose work can be truly a force for global good."
The International Sustainability Institute Channel Islands and its proposed programme will be introduced at a series of launch events, talks and seminars both in Jersey and Guernsey in the next few weeks.
