Jersey Gambling Commission’s Chief Executive has been elected Vice-President of the International Association of Gaming Regulators.
It comes after Dr Jason Lane previously served two years on the IAGR Board of Trustees.
IAGR consists of representatives from gaming regulatory organisations throughout the world, and aims to advance the effectiveness and efficiency of gaming regulation.
Dr Lane, who is also currently Chair of the Jersey Police Authority, will serve a year as Vice-President – having been elected at the organisation’s virtual business meeting on 14October, before becoming President of the Association in 2021.
“The main role of the Vice-President is to organise the following year’s annual conference and to support the President in the running of the Association. IAGR is fortunate to have a professional Secretariat based in the United States, and the Vice-President liaises with the Secretariat to ensure that all the necessary legal and fiscal obligations of the Association are discharged appropriately,” Dr Lane said.
Looking to 2021, he added: “Our ambition is to build our association’s profile and reach. We have also been exploring potential new strategic initiatives that will advance IAGR’s mission and enhance our contribution to gambling regulation globally. I look forward to supporting our new President in the coming year.”
