Jersey restaurants ranked among the best in the British Isles

Tuesday 02 September 2014

The UK’s bestselling restaurant guide comes out next week and lists ten Island restaurants among the ranks of the top scoring places to dine out in the British Isles.

The Waitrose Good Food Guide has been reviewing and writing about eating out - from pubs and cafés to restaurants and fine dining - for 64 years. The 2015 edition will be published on Monday 8 September.

Ormer and Bohemia were the two highest scoring restaurant in Jersey and across the bailiwicks, followed by:

  • Green Island
  • The Green Olive
  • Tassili at The Grand Hotel
  • Sumas
  • The Atlantic’s Ocean Restaurant
  • Oyster Box
  • Mark Jordan at the Beach
  • Longueville Manor

In addition, the Fermain Beach Café in Guernsey is the latest Channels Islands’ addition to the guide, joining existing entries Da Nello, and La Frégate in St Peter Port.

The guide’s consultant editor, Elizabeth Carter, said: “It’s great to see the Channel Islands continuing to do so well in the Good Food Guide 2015.  Congratulations to Fermain Beach Café in St Peter Port, a fabulous addition to the Channel Island’s dining scene, and to Shaun Rankin, whose big-hitting Ormer has moved up a point to join Bohemia as the two top scoring Channel Islands restaurants.”
