Jersey's main business awards launched today

Friday 10 January 2014

A week long series of events is being organised to mark this year's Awards for Enterprise in Jersey.

It'll all take place in June, and organisers say the program of events will celebrate the Island's entrepreneurial spirit and business prowess. The Awards will be officially launched this Friday, when potential entrants will be asked to begin work on their submissions, which need to be entered by the 16 February.

The Awards are coordinated by Jersey Business, and sponsored by a group of well known local companies including Condor Ferries, JT and Greenlight.

Andy Cook, Chief Executive of Jersey Business said: “The Awards for Enterprise are very special and celebrate excellence among Island businesses and organisations, large and small.  Whilst winners and finalists take extreme pride in the recognition that they gain, almost all entrants will state that it is the process of reviewing and then articulating their success story that has inspired further development or improvement within their own organisation.”

For the first time, an 'open invitation' Entrants’ Evening will be held on Thursday 16 January at the Pomme D’Or Hotel at five pm, which will offer local businesses the opportunity to find out more about entering the Awards, what the judges are looking for, and how the process can benefit an organisation. There will also be the opportunity to talk to winners from 2013. Potential entrants can visit www.jerseybusiness.je for more information.
