JTC has completed the purchase of New York Private Trust Company which is chartered in Delaware, USA.
The Jersey headquartered professional services business, which employs staff based at Admiral Park in Guernsey, has bought the American non-deposit trust company.
NYPTC offers a range of fiduciary services, including trusts, estate administration and white label platforms to high net worth individuals, family offices and corporate clients who are based in the US and around the world.
JTC said this acquisition supports its strategy for growth in the US market.
Nigel Le Quesne, CEO of JTC (pictured), said: "NYPTC is a high-quality private client business that expands our US footprint and supports our ambitions to grow a market-leading US domestic trust business.
"We are delighted to be one of the first non-US headquartered and non-bank businesses to receive regulatory approval in Delaware, which underlines our long-standing commitment to the US market and future growth.
"The NYPTC team has an outstanding reputation for delivering the highest levels of service and we extend a warm welcome to our new colleagues and clients."
JTC has also announced today that it has become a signatory to the UN Principles for Responsible Investing (PRI).
Created in 2006, the PRI is the world's leading proponent of responsible investment, working to understand the investment implications of environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors and to support an international network of investor signatories in incorporating these factors into their investment and ownership decisions.
Wendy Holley, Chief Sustainability Officer of JTC, commented: "We are delighted to be able to extend our UN PRI signatory status across the whole of JTC Group, which now covers over 1,400 people in 30 offices spanning 20 jurisdictions. As part of our ESG journey, we are implementing the strategy and practical work programme to deliver a more sustainable company for the planet.
"JTC has set itself a number of strategic targets through an ESG framework which is based on our purpose and cultural values, with Shared Ownership for all JTC employees at its heart."
