Liberation Group shortlisted for national award

Tuesday 16 September 2014

The Liberation Group has been shortlisted in the Pub Champion category of this year’s British Beer and Pub Association Industry Awards.

Only three awards will be presented at the gala evening to be held at the Park Plaza in London next month and the Channel Islands' company is up against national chains Admiral Taverns and Star Pubs and Bars.

The Chief Executive of Liberation Group, Mark Crowther, said: “The BBPA are among the highest and most prestigious awards for our industry. To be shortlisted is a great achievement and an honour for us. If you look at the other categories we are alongside some of the giants in our field, including Carlsberg UK, Brakspear, Punch Taverns and Timothy Taylors, it shows how a small company from the Channel Islands can really punch above our weight.”

The awards are the highlight of this key industry event, recognising exceptional company and individual contributions to the brewing and pub sector in 2013.

BBPA Chief Executive Brigid Simmonds commented: “The quality of entries this year is of a very high standard, and I want to thank all those who have taken part. One exciting feature this year is our Beer Champion award, which includes entries from non-brewers, showing that innovation and commitment in the supply chain can provide a winning formula for the whole industry.”

Liberation Group won the Beer Champion category of the Beer and Pub Association Industry Awards in 2012.
