Fighting fraud is a team effort, says Will Wright, Chief Operating Officer of Santander International.

He joined us in the Bailiwick Podcasts to share how individuals can work with banks to defend themselves against cybercrime in the fast-moving digital environment.

Many of us have spent October marking Cybersecurity Awareness month, taking time to learn more about online safety and the fight against cybercrime.

In a rapidly developing digital world, looking after your data, identity and affairs online has never been more important.

"It's something we're talking about internally on a weekly basis,” said Will“Across the Santander group, we spend millions on protecting our customers."

A report by Santander UK and the Social Market Foundation showed that between 2021 and 2023, 10m Britons were impacted by fraud, costing the economy £16bn.

“Personal cybersecurity is about protecting your personal information, devices and identity. We are sharing more information online all the time, which becomes a risk,” Will said.

With fraud on the rise and costing the UK economy billions, what can we do to prevent falling victim to scams?

As we close out Cybersecurity Awareness Month, learn more about the fundamentals of personal cybersecurity and what Santander International are doing to protect their customers in the latest Bailiwick Podcast.
