A 23-year-old chef is hoping to serve up success for the island this summer as he competes in a prestigious national cooking competition in London.

Longueville Manor Chef Jacob Gosselin has secured his place at the invitation-only Young National Chef of the Year competition.

He will compete against seven of the UK’s most renowned up-and-coming cooks.

The former Highlands College student has always been passionate about cooking and started training at Longueville Manor when he was just 16 years old.

Mr Gosselin was named Young Channel Island Chef of the Year in 2017, 2018, and 2023 – reaching the finals of the national competition in 2018 and 2020.

Longueville Manor's Executive Head Chef, Andrew Baird said: "Throughout his time with us, Jacob has worked through every section of the kitchen, becoming Chef de Partie in each before progressing to Junior Sous Chef at 21."

Longueville Manor Owner, Malcolm Lewis added: "Jacob Gosselin is a chef with immense potential.

"The Longueville team wholeheartedly supports him and wishes him every success.

"We are confident his talent and dedication will shine."
