LV Care Group has been shortlisted for the LangBuisson Excellence in Training Award for innovation in the delivery of training to health and social care professionals.
The LangBuisson Awards celebrate businesses that have set new standards of excellence within their sector.
In March 2020, LV Group launched their online training platform through the Care Academy, as local demand for carers continued to rise.
For the first three months, any individuals working or wanting to work in care outside of the LV Group had free access to the training and 4,418 certficates were issued.
“The originality of our online training platform has been a major factor in our continued success during what was a very challenging year for everyone. Despite Covid, we have increased the number of nursing beds for the island," CEO Nick Bettany commented.
"Critically, we were also able to increase and upskill our staff and our commitment to training and the professional development of those staff is key to that achievement.”
The online training covers 49 courses. Many of the courses use blended-learning, enabling staff to combine their online theory with real-life practice.
Verity Sangan, Head of Training, added: “We took the decision to put commercial needs aside for what was a critical time for all during the height of the pandemic, and to launch a service that would not only benefit our staff and end users, but all of those who work and use health care in our islands.
"I’m delighted that it was so successful and that the work our team put into producing this innovative solution has been recognised in the award shortlisting.”
