Workshop aims to discuss AI "hype" and how to benefit from it

Tuesday 18 June 2024

Ways of using Artificial Intelligence to improve productivity will be the focus of a breakfast workshop aimed at local businesses.

The event at the Royal Yacht Hotel on 9 July, titled 'AI Powered Productivity – Strategising for Success', aims to explore some of the hype around AI and showcase ways that businesses can use it to their advantage.

Targeted at executives and board members, the workshop is being organised by the Jersey branch of the Institute of Directors and will feature keynote speaker Peeyush Aggarwal from global consultancy firm Deloitte.

Ian Webb, digital sub-committee chair for the IoD's island branch, said: “With the speed of new developments in digital technology, especially in the AI arena, it is difficult for today’s business leaders to keep pace.

"We are aiming this event at those who are curious about the hype around AI and how it might energise their search for productivity gains.

"This is especially timely given the challenges businesses face with skills shortages, rising input costs, and tough trading conditions.”

The event will run from 08:15 to 11:00 and include interactive breakout sessions led by experts in AI adoption who will offer practical examples of how it can make a positive difference.

Mr Webb said the IoD was looking forward to welcoming Mr Aggarwal, a specialist in achieving productivity gains through the combination of AI, trusted data and human-centred design.

"Peeyush will share his expertise on innovative AI solutions that enhance customer experiences, streamline operations, and unlock new growth opportunities," he said.

Further details, including an online link for buying tickets to the event, are available at HERE.
