The Channel Islands' Association for Project Management is hosting a webinar next week on how competitors can work together on a common goal.
MeshID’s co-founder will be leading the talk on 28 July, discussing how, in 2020, the company and Digital Jersey kicked off a collaboration initiative within Sandbox Jersey, aiming to create a solution for a common problem faced by financial services providers in Jersey: performing repetitive client due diligence on common clients.
“Seeking to address this frustrating issue, we brought together key players in the corporate, legal, fund and banking industry, with the aim to create a technology solution that will allow them to better share key information about clients they shared in common, in a secure and trusted way," Gui Vohringer said.
“It was not an entirely smooth ride, and the team often learnt the hard way how not to approach collaboration across competing organisations. Despite all the interesting ups and downs, the team managed to deliver a working product by the end of the year, on time and within budget."
"We are glad that both members and non-members of the APM can hear from the team behind the project on how they delivered a successful project, the challenges faced in the time of covid-19, how competitors collaborated, and how the lessons learned improved the end outcome," .Alex Knowelden, the local APM Committee Secretary, said.
"The APM Channel Isles provides an opportunity for those already working in -or wishing to explore -the project profession a forum to swap stories and experiences in an environment with like-minded project professionals. We are hoping to show those who may consider a career in projects what it’s all about and how to get into this most varied and exciting of professions.”
Mr Vohringer will be discussing his experiences during the online webinar on Wednesday 28 July between 12:30 and 13:30.
