CI students keen for local career opportunities, says EY

Wednesday 18 August 2021

Students across Jersey and Guernsey are "increasingly looking for opportunities to start their career within the islands", according to EY.

The firm made the statement following a recent survey its Channel Islands followers on its Instagram account (@EYCICareers) - most of whom are school leavers and graduates - and found that 77% of those surveyed were currently pursuing their career locally.

Meanwhile, 38% said they required more information about career opportunities.

While it’s been a year of uncertainty for many, 92% indicated that they were not nervous about making decisions about their futures.

Irma Pretorius, EY’s Head of Talent in the Channel Islands, said this, coupled with the high percentage of students looking at career opportunities in the Channel Islands, was positive news for the Channel Islands.
