A leading law firm has restructured its European-based team that has special responsibility for the British Virgin Islands.
Corporate Partner Mike Williams, who recently relocated to Jersey from the BVI, is to head up Mourant Ozannes' European-based BVI team.
Helping him are Counsel Chinyin Johnston who has extensive knowledge of the London market particularly in advising on financing transactions, including acquisition, leveraged, asset, project and real estate financings and debt restructuring; and Senior Associate Ian Montgomery, who has expertise in advising on corporate transactions, including, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financings and corporate restructurings.
According to Mourant Ozannes' Global Managing Partner Jonathan Rigby, "Our global BVI practice continues to expand due to an increase in client demand. In the past 12 months, we have seen an increase in the number of London led financing transactions and sales of BVI companies holding UK property. In response, we have strengthened our dedicated BVI resource within the European time zone. This will allow our team in Europe to provide clients in the UK and Europe with top-quality BVI legal advice on a timely basis, working seamlessly with our BVI-based team."
