Mourant Ozannes assisted lead advisor Clifford Chance in advising Electra Private Equity PLC on the £180 million acquisition of Ogier Fiduciary Services.
The London Stock Exchange-listed investment trust, is contributing £83 million alongside investment from the current Ogier management team -subject to regulatory approval. Previously part of the Ogier Group, Ogier Fiduciary Services provides trust, fund and company administration services to corporate, private client and investment funds.
Matthew Shaxson, managing associate in Mourant Ozannes Jersey Corporate Practice led the firm’s corporate, regulatory, banking and property teams that worked on the transaction.
He said: "We were delighted to provide specific Jersey, Guernsey, Cayman and BVI legal and regulatory advice to Electra, and to assist Clifford Chance on this transaction. Our global team was able to provide specific, multi-jurisdictional advice from a range of practice areas."
