Offshore law firm Mourant Ozannes has retained its position in the top tier of Channel Islands' law firms in the latest issue of the IFLR1000
The IFLR1000 is a guide to the world's leading financial law firms and provides tiered rankings across markets, regions and practice areas from research based on case study evidence combined with peer and client feedback.
The firm also rose up the rankings in the Caribbean.
The Global Managing Partner, Jonathan Rigby, said: "We are delighted with the results of the latest research from IFLR. We are driven to be the first law firm with strength in depth in the top tier IFCs in Europe and the Caribbean and our rankings in the latest directory demonstrate that we are on our way to achieving our goal.”
Mourant Ozannes' corporate practice is ranked against competitors in the fields of finance and corporate and investment funds and, in the 2015 issue, the firm has received tier one rankings across the board in Guernsey and Jersey.
In the Cayman Islands, the practice has risen to tier two in both categories and, following its office opening in 2012, has maintained its BVI finance and corporate ranking and entered the board for investment funds for the first time. For Hong Kong, the rankings have remained in tier two and three alongside some of the jurisdiction's most established offshore firms.
The Managing Partner of the Cayman Islands office, Peter Hayden, said: "Our corporate practice continues to be involved in the most high profile corporate and finance matters in the Cayman Islands. In boosting our rankings to tier two, we're incredibly pleased that the IFLR's research has recognised the breadth and depth of our expertise in such a competitive area of practice."
Mourant Ozannes' rankings within the IFLR1000 directory follow the firm's success in the Legal 500 UK directory, published earlier this month. In the latest issue of the Legal 500 directory, ranking law firms throughout the British Isles, themfirm was awarded 14 of the highest level, tier one rankings in Guernsey, Jersey and London across its key practice areas.
