Collas Crill has appointed a Consultant in its International Private Client and Trusts team in the Channel Islands.
James Badcock advises high-net-worth individuals, mainly in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, on cross-border estate planning and advises trustees on trust law and the administration of trusts.
He designs and implements wealth-holding structures for entrepreneurs and investors with interests and assets in several jurisdictions, and has particular expertise in advising trustees on managing risk and supports dispute resolution lawyers on matters involving trusts.
After starting his career at Macfarlanes in London in 2003, Mr Badcock's experience includes several years as Partner and Head of Private Client at Collyer Bristow, a leading London private client firm, where he also headed up the Geneva office for three years.
He was then a Director in the Private Client legal team at PwC before taking on consultancy roles.
Mr Badcock has extensive relationships with other professional advisers and trustees, particularly in Switzerland and Dubai, and features in the Chambers High Net Worth guide.
Mr Badcock said: "Collas Crill is a superb firm with a real focus on private wealth.
"I am looking forward to working with and learning from the firm's lawyers and their clients in the Channel Islands and internationally, many of whom I already know."
Collas Crill's Group Managing Partner, Jason Romer added: "James is a seasoned lawyer within the private client space and very well placed to deliver the high-calibre work our growing client base has come to expect of us.
"He is a perfect fit for Collas Crill with a customer-centric approach, substantial experience in the services we offer and strong relationships with advisers and trustees alike."
