Founder and CEO of Aztec Group becomes Chair

Wednesday 08 February 2023

The Aztec Group founder and CEO has decided to step down from the role, to become Chair of the Group board.

Edward Moore, CEO and founder of Aztec Group, will move into the role of Chair of the Group Board, to be succeeded as CEO by Kathryn Purves.

Ms Purves was appointed as Group Chair in April 2022, having initially joined the Group as a Non-Executive Director in 2020.

Kathryn has previously held a number of executive and non-executive roles within the financial services sector, with significant experience in growth businesses, capital markets, corporate governance, risk and compliance within both listed and privately-owned companies.

She will assume the role of CEO on 1 April, 2023.

Mr Moore said: “After 22 years as Aztec’s CEO, this is the right time for me to move into a new role within the Group.

It makes me truly proud to see how far the business has come thanks to our incredibly talented people and the exceptional service we provide our clients, and I’m looking forward to working alongside Kathryn to ensure we maintain those strengths as the business continues to grow."

Ms Purves said “As Group Chair I have loved working alongside Edward over the past year, and I’m looking forward to continuing that excellent partnership in our new roles.

"I am taking on this role with strong foundations already in place for Aztec to continue to grow and evolve...I am honoured to take over the role of CEO and look forward to working with Edward and our colleagues as we guide Aztec through the next stage of our journey.”
