The Chair of IoD Jersey will be replacing Kevin Keen at the top of Visit Jersey's board when he retires after six years in the role in May.
Jersey Finance's Head of Legal and Technical Lisa Springate was selected following an appointment process overseen by the Jersey Appointments Commission.
She will be taking up her new role leading the board of the island's key tourism promotion body on 19 May and leaving the IoD after three years at the end of that month.
Ms Springate moved to Jersey in 1993. Before joining Jersey Finance, she was a partner in a private firm and practised commercial litigation in Jersey, London and Hong Kong and acted for high-net-worth individuals, companies and banks.
In recent years, she has been a Board member of the Jersey Good Business Charter and was a member of the Economic Council, which published papers on the topic of sustainable economic growth.
Mr Keen said he was "delighted" she had been selected to succeed him, adding that her experience "will be very valuable, but most importantly, she also brings a real passion for Jersey."

Describing her appointment as an "honour", Ms Springate said: “Tourism makes a significant contribution to Jersey’s economy and plays a vital role to our quality of life, as well as building our reputation around the world.
"As we emerge from the pandemic, it is therefore imperative that we collaborate and work together, to ensure our beautiful island remains a clear leader in tourism."
