HSBC has appointed a new Chief Risk Officer to work across the Channel Islands and Isle of Man.
Steve Beddow (pictured), who joined HSBC in 2001, will step into the leadership position after holding the same role in Monaco.
He joins the bank’s Jersey operation after numerous years across ‘front-line’ and risk roles at the company. Those duties have spanned the sectors of Retail Banking, Wealth Management and Commercial Banking in locations across the globe such as Canada, France, Dubai and Mexico.
Commenting on his new role in Jersey, Steve said: “Operating and adhering to the highest standards of risk are of paramount importance, not only to protect our customers but also so that we continue to be a highly-trusted bank. Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Man are all diverse, vibrant and evolving markets, and I look forward to helping the bank show its commitment to upholding the highest risk standards across the islands.”
