The Bailiff has appointed Advocate Adam Clarke, Managing Partner at Le Gallais and Luce, to the office of Judicial Greffier.
Mr Clarke will take over from Paul Matthews who is retiring from the role this summer.
Mr Clarke, a father of two, attended Victoria College before Bournemouth University and then the University of the West of England.
He was admitted to the Bar as a Jersey advocate in January 2000.
He has worked in general practice in several local law firms before becoming a Managing Partner at Le Gallais and Luce.
