New law firm and regulatory business for Jersey

Tuesday 25 October 2016

Oben - a new law and regulatory firm - has opened for business.

The team who have worked with each other in the past have got back together to launch the new company.

They founded Oben, which comprises Oben Law, a Jersey-based law firm, and Oben Regulatory, a regulatory consulting business, to provide effective, focused, legal and regulatory solutions to clients.

Advocates Simon Franckel and David Wilson are the partners of Oben Law, which specialises in dispute resolution.

The founders believe Oben Regulatory provides a unique offering. Aside from the skills offered by two senior advocates the team also includes Alexandra Ruddy, a chartered accountant, and Jamie Biddle and Nicola Ingram, who previously held senior positions at the Jersey Financial Services Commission.

The team have worked together previously, assisting financial services businesses in a wide range of matters, including distressed collective investment funds, policies and procedures, corporate governance, due diligence, AML/CFT, sanctions, risk management, remediation, anti-bribery and corruption and training.
