Island Energy – the new name for Jersey Gas – has appointed a new managing director.
Clive Doyle returns to the firm, having previously held the role of Regulation and Risk Manager for Islands Energy Group, the parent company of Island Energy.
Mr Doyle has worked in the energy distribution for more than 40 years. He started his career as an apprentice, and is now a Chartered Engineer and member of the Institute of Gas Engineers and Managers. He also holds a master’s degree in Process Safety and Loss Prevention.
“I’m very pleased to be back at what is now a very different organisation,” said Mr Doyle. “This is a challenging time for the gas and energy industries, where a great deal of change is needed if we are to meet our net-zero ambitions.”
CEO of Islands Energy Group, Jo Cox, said: “Clive’s appointment brings extensive engineering know-how to our leadership team. His familiarity with our business will also be crucial to enacting change and to helping with Island Energy’s journey to a net-zero future.”
Island Energy has recently opened a new store in Bath Street selling smart home technology and energy-efficient appliances.
“We want to be Jersey’s trusted partner in energy management; changing our name is part of that, and opening this new store is another significant step,” said Ms Cox.
